In the new work, INFINITE FLUX, my ongoing attraction to the Buddhist aesthetic/philosophy of Wabi Sabi still pertains. Nothing is perfect, nothing lasts, nothing stays the same. Time, space and matter are perpetually swirling and shifting to new dimensions and forms. In each mixed media piece, I first fix attention on the appearance of an organic form; either a seed, a pod or a bloom of some indeterminate origin. In a meditative trance of careful drawing, I reflect on the apparent perfection of those forms at a single moment in time.

A play on the geographical location of these two artists; Stokes is from Grande Prairie and Laycock is from Calgary. These two artists come together to celebrate the diversity of the Alberta Landscape from north to south; prairie to mountains and beyond. Both artists have a unique painterly quality to their work which leaves you to explore your impression of our surroundings and get immersed in the landscape.
Preview Thursday and Friday, April 3 & 4.

Jennifer Dickson was always a classy lady. Meticulous and fastidious in life and her artwork. Exhibited internationally and the only Canadian in 1976 to be elected to the Royal Academy of Arts.
Her CV is nothing but impressive and yet she was humble and always gracious. We will fondly remember her.

Toogood was an instructor at AUArts and touched many lives. We were honoured to host in 2024 an exhibition with her, and came to understand how what a mark she has made. May her light & energy live on in her art.
