“In a sensorial search a gamut of emotions can be accessed directly from what we see. As early as the 70’s I engaged in surface and gesture by exhibiting along side of the painters of the Surface/ Support movement in Montreal, Paris, and Milan. Now, with additional emphasis on color, I hope to reach the viewer where well-being and even joy can be experienced. In an attempt to explain how to do this I have little to say, other than try and see. This is what I do when I paint, and what an observer can hopefully share when viewing”. – Sorensen
